(AFP) – Turkey’s official inflation rate hit nearly 70 percent in April, the national statistics agency said Thursday, posing a huge challenge to President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s government.
The consumer price index rose 69.97 percent year on year in April — up from 61.14 percent in March, according to official data.
