Chinese stocks closed lower on Monday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.75 percent to 3,078.55 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.69 percent lower at 10,829.08 points.
The turnover of stocks covered by the two indices stood at about 758.4 billion yuan (about 105.9 billion U.S. dollars), up from 737.8 billion yuan on the previous trading day.
Shares related to hospitality, tourism, and airport shipping sectors led the gains, while some stocks in industries of education, banking, and medical services suffered losses.
The ChiNext Index, tracking China’s Nasdaq-style board of growth enterprises, lost 0.46 percent to close at 2,298.8 points.
