European stock markets slid at the start of trading Tuesday following sharp losses in Asia and falls on Wall Street.
London’s benchmark FTSE 100 index shed 0.7 percent to 7,312.32 points.
In the eurozone, Frankfurt’s DAX index shed 1.0 percent to 13,808.21 points and the Paris CAC 40 retreated 1.1 percent to 6,402.98.
